Tom's Life
The beginning ... Tom was born at Luton and Dunstable Hospital Maternity Unit on 18th June 1980. His mother Sandra had a comparatively easy delivery, and dad Ray was there to witness the birth and share in the joy. Big sister Katy had to wait a few hours to see her baby brother. From the first she seemed to want to protect him and boss him!
Tom seemed in a rush to join the world - there is no other way to describe it. This desire to try to grab all the experiences that life could offer remained a dominant trait for his brief but happy life.
To we his family, he was a breath of fresh air whenever he crawled into the room - and it was not long at all before he was not crawling, but running everywhere. It was as if he had decided that crawling was just too slow, much better to stagger from one adult or piece of furniture to another; you got there quicker that way.
