Dedicated as a tribute to the tragically short life of our wonderful son, brother, partner, nephew, grandson and friend, this site will never close. In time it is hoped the site will serve two purposes: firstly, as a place for family and friends to visit for remembrance of dear Tom; and secondly, as a first step in establishing an organisation to help young people and their families recognise and hopefully overcome the dangers and temptations in modern life. All will be in Tom's memory.

Anyone fortunate enough to have known our dear Tom is welcome here. Please feel free to send any stories, pictures or anecdotes that you think Tom or his friends and family would like to see. We all love you so much Tom - you will live in our hearts forever. We are thinking of you especially today, 20th March 2010. Our dear, precious boy.

Tom Ruddick - A Life                   18th June 1980 - 20th March 2008

Tom at 26 Tom's Life

The beginning ... Tom was born at Luton and Dunstable Hospital Maternity Unit on 18th June 1980. His mother Sandra had a comparatively easy delivery, and dad Ray was there to witness the birth and share in the joy. Big sister Katy had to wait a few hours to see her baby brother. From the first she seemed to want to protect him and boss him!

Tom seemed in a rush to join the world - there is no other way to describe it. This desire to try to grab all the experiences that life could offer remained a dominant trait for his brief but happy life.

To we his family, he was a breath of fresh air whenever he crawled into the room - and it was not long at all before he was not crawling, but running everywhere. It was as if he had decided that crawling was just too slow, much better to stagger from one adult or piece of furniture to another; you got there quicker that way. To hear more about some of Tom's childhood adventures go to the Memories pages ... if you have anything to include please email Tom's dad, Ray.
